Thank you for clicking this far into your research. My name is Darryl M. Boucaud and I started Pico Duarte Real Estate Investments in 2021 with a plan to spread the word about a little piece of paradise that my wife and I stumbled upon in the Dominican Republic. At Pico Duarte, we take a client-first approach, making sure we deliver what the client wants and needs, all in a timely, organized and transparent manner. We are focused on North Americans because we are Canadians, but all are welcome to buy a piece of paradise and earn passive income with short-term rentals.
My Story
Now that you know what my vision is, you're probably wondering where I was before 2021.

I was born and raised in Toronto. I attended UPEI and graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland. For a couple of years, I co-captained the university basketball team and played with some of the greatest people I've ever known. Since my glory days, I worked for Nike and The Bank of Montreal until I began working for the family business, which, at the time, was successfully installing security alarms. I saw an opportunity at a trade show and realized that smart home automation would be the wave of the future. So, I brought the idea into the fold. While offering a new product, which people weren't even sure how to pronounce, I quickly realized there was more to "selling" than showing someone a product; the most important thing, outside of respect/honesty, is knowledge. People needed to know and understand that 1) we knew our stuff, 2) we could make it simple and make it make sense to them and 3) we would make sure every step was taken care of.
Fifteen successful years and hundreds of installations later, my wife and I felt it was time to try something new and give our family the opportunity to live out a dream we have had since we begun dating in 2011: to escape the "rat race" and actively raise our family, together. We sold everything, packed up our must-haves and headed out to the Dominican Republic where we saw a chance to achieve all our dreams and seize on an opportunity that was ripe for the picking.

Now that I have gone through the process of discovery; and purchasing, I can understand why most are hesitant to invest in a foreign market. Even more, I've realized how few North Americans know about the opportunities in the Dominican Republic. Through education, sharing of knowledge and us literally living in the investment zone, we can offer a level of service that is second to none and reflective of our Canadian values. My professional goal is to help North Americans earn a passive income via short-term rentals in the Carribean, so they can hopefully see their dreams come to fruition and live their lives to the fullest.
